Blog Feedback and LR

Post this in a new blogpost on your Media blog and complete the LR tasks/questions below.

WWW: Two good posts – but also missing work. The fruit bowl is brilliantly creative and I’m pleased you’ve written a fair amount for each key concept for the Guardians of the Galaxy poster.

EBI: You need to post your missing work urgently: the 10 questions from the first week and the Camerawork photo storyboard pictures and analysis. If you don’t keep up with the work you cannot hope to complete a subject with 60% coursework. You also need to develop your written Media analysis exploring the different possible interpretations that audiences may take from a media product such as a film poster.

LR: Post the two missing pieces of work. Then, reflect on your first month of Media. What do you feel is your strongest piece of work so far? What is your weakest? What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop over the rest of the course?

My first month of media has been really fun and full of excitement I have enjoyed every single lesson so far hopefully I will in the future to. I have really understood and enjoyed the camera angles that we learned as I found them quit simple. Hopefully I will do well in the future.

Film Poster analysis

Image result for guardians of the galaxy

Language: I can tell that this is a film poster from the names at the top of the poster such as Chris Pratt I can tell this because usually on film posters the names of the actors appear at the top. I can also tell that this is a movie poster because it says "From The Studio That Bought You Avengers"which is also a Marvel movie. Furthermore I can also tell that this is a movie because  right at the bottom of the page it says the release date and it also says that it is in IMAX 3D if this was a  book or a magazine for example it would say nothing about 3D or it wouldn't give a release date as books do not have release date. Finally my last reason for how I can tell that this is a movie is that if it was a book it would say the name of the author at the bottom for example it says JK Rowling at the bottom of Harry Potter books.

Institutions: The studio behind this movie is Marvel I can tell this as it says this near the bottom of the poster. However although it may be made my Marvel the people who will make most of the money are the actors the main actors in this movie are Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Zoe Saldana, David Bautista and Bradley Cooper. The film had a $170 budget which is more than most movies this could be one main factor that would draw audiences closer towards the movie because when people see how much money was used for the movie they might assume that is a good movie as there was alot of money used in the movie.

Audience: I believe that the target audience is 14-45 this is because their movie is a marvel movie and kids are really interested in superhero movies which is what they specialise in I Also think that this is for people aged 45 because people are really interested in buying and collecting figures of superheros so this could make them really interested in superhero movies. Also people just really enjoy superhero movies because of the story line and also the action so that could also be another reason why people are drawn closer towards it.

Representation: You can tell by looking at the poster that their are 5 characters who are most likely the main characters in the move you can tell this because the main characters are usually at the front also I can tell this is a scifi film because their are spaceships in the poster and also the colour of the poster also hints towards it being scifi as that is the colour used for most scifie movies.
